Clients to get money back if projects fall behind time or budget
Research carried out by Yorkon, a member of the Portakabin Group, shows that it is performing well ahead of the construction industry, having consistently delivered 99.7% of building projects on time and on budget over the last decade.
This performance is in stark contrast to the 2012 industry figures released by Constructing Excellence, which revealed the industry’s worst performance for 12 years.
Just 34% of projects were delivered on time and 61% on cost, which is actually a decline since 2011.
As part of its commitment to delivery on time and on budget, Yorkon has launched a ground-breaking
The new charter states that if Yorkon fails to meet the agreed deadline, 1% of the contract value will be refunded for every week a project is delayed.
Commenting on the launch of the new charter, Simon Ambler, director at Yorkon, said, “We are passionate about ensuring every project is delivered on time and on budget, which is why we are going a step further to provide our customers with even greater peace of mind. We believe the new charter sets a clear benchmark for the industry, as well as demonstrating our commitment to customer service excellence.”
The new charter follows the recent extension of the structural warranty protection for Yorkon buildings to 30 years, which is unmatched by site-based construction. This gives customers additional assurance of the quality, strength and long-term performance of this advanced off-site system and ensures that in the unlikely event of a structural failure during that time, Yorkon will rectify it.
Yorkon now offers the widest range of building modules currently available from any off-site manufacturer in the UK. This provides architects, contractors and construction clients with the unprecedented flexibility to meet almost any building footprint or design.
Yorkon is a market-leading supplier of off-site building solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including transport, retail, industry, health and education. It provides bespoke steel-framed buildings, which are manufactured and fitted out off site in significantly less time, with less disruption and less impact on the environment. Its projects have been recognised by numerous awards and accolades for design, build quality, project performance and health and safety.
