P+HS Architects sponsors Dementia Design category at 2015 Building Better Healthcare Awards

Architectural firm supports Building Design category at this year's competition

P+HS Architects is the latest company to sign up to support the 2015 Building Better Healthcare Awards.

The firm is sponsoring the Best Dementia Care Development Award, one of eight gongs available in the Building Design category of this year’s competition.

The award will recognise excellence in the design of the built environment for the increasing number of people suffering from dementia, both in hospital and social and community care environments.

The award is a new category for the 2015 competition, recognising the dual pressures of a rapidly-ageing population and the need to provide high-quality, supportive environments for the growing number of people being diagnosed with dementia.

Joe Biggs, MD at P+HS Architects commented:
‘We are delighted to again be supporting a major category at the Building Better Healthcare Awards which showcase the very best in healthcare design and product innovation. This year we are sponsoring Dementia Care: an area of design close to our heart.  We have been working on several schemes specific to older age needs over recent months and increasingly recognise the need to embed dementia friendly design strategies into all our developments across all sectors.  Good design should be simple legible and inclusive; accessible to all.  We wish entrants in all categories at this year’s awards the very best of luck.’

The winners of the 2015 competition will be announced at a ceremony in central London on Wednesday, 4 November.
