At Alessandro Caruso Architecture and Interiors (ACA) we believe in a total design inspired by our Italian heritage. Our use of colour, natural materials and light – considering internal and external factors – creates healthier and happier experiences for patients and staff. Since its formation, the Practice has rapidly developed a reputation as “Partner of Choice” for a number of Health and Social Care Organisations. We provide sustainable design solutions combining unique, Italian, creative design with a prompt response and a dedicated, specialist knowledge, which adds value to any project.
ACA, based in Beverley, with an office in Doncaster, comprises a team of experienced professionals who have a combined experience of over 50 years in consultancy and architecture.
We have developed significant clinical understanding working for several NHS Trusts and Independent Healthcare Providers in the design of a range of facilities including Primary Care, Secondary Care, Acute Mental Health, Addictions, Complex Care, Child and Adolescent Services, Residential and Dementia Care Services and Retirement Villages. Having completed several developments using Partnering Procurements (NEC and PPC2000), our overriding philosophy is to work in a collaborative, open and integrated way with patient groups, clinicians and nursing staff, contractors and facilities management to realise the vision of a person-centred, inclusive, welcoming and well-lit environment that enhances privacy, dignity and aids the healing process.
Alessandro, a founding Director of the Practice, is a Design Associate for Stirling University’s Dementia Care Services Development Centre. His investigative approach maintains research at its heart to learn about our Clients’ priorities. We dedicate time to explore the complex needs of people, understanding their challenges to achieve safe, effective and responsive facilities, compliant with CQC Registration Standards. Family business caring is in our DNA and our approach automatically showcases commitment, value for money and quality every step of the way.
Alessandro has consistently strived to provide sensitive, innovative and patient oriented design solutions. Robert Atkinson – Estates Projects Manager. Humber NHS Foundation Trust
Building networks with organisations and industry leaders is part of our growth structure. We believe this gives us much needed perspectives and enables a better understanding.
The Practice set-up mirrors our design approach to deliver efficiency, effectiveness and expression. We influence our Clients’ environmental impact reduction helping them to achieve sustainable designs that respect environmental needs, are responsive to their settings and the whole community. Working within the set financial boundaries completes the 3 pillars that sustainable development is based on. Previous designs have received BREEAM ratings certification and we have demonstrated innovative solutions with flexible layout design and materials specification.
Using sketches, Building Information Modelling communication and over fifty years’ combined experience designing buildings in England, Spain and Italy, we help you to achieve people-centred, sustainable and holistic buildings that inspire whoever experiences them.
